Advanced Precision Technologies is a 5-axis CNC machining specialist based at South Fens Enterprise Park in Chatteris. We work with engineers and R&D teams across Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Leicestershire who need complex parts made accurately in small numbers.
We use OPEN MIND hyperMILL and Autodesk Fusion for CAM programming, DMG MORI and Matsuura 5-axis milling machines, and a 5-axis scanning CMM for inspection. Inspection reports are supplied on request, including for parts made elsewhere.
What tolerances can you hold?+
We routinely hold 5 to 10 microns (0.005–0.010 mm) on our DMG MORI CMX 70 U and Matsuura MX-520 5-axis machines.
What is the largest part you can machine?+
Up to 675 mm × 600 mm × 550 mm (X × Y × Z), and cylindrical parts up to 600 mm diameter.
Do you take one-off and prototype work?+
Yes. One-offs and prototypes are our focus. Typical batches run from 1 to 100 parts.
What files do you accept?+
STEP, IGES and technical drawings. No drawing? Send the physical part and we can reverse engineer it.
Is my design kept confidential?+
Yes. We sign an NDA with every customer as standard.

Can you inspect parts made elsewhere?+
